Photos - Master Suite Addition

Handicapped Accessible, Manor, TX

The addition was mostly designed and built using the rules of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  The new bedroom and bathroom have the space to allow wheelchair maneuverability. View the floorplan here.

FOUNDATION IS READY TO POUR

Walls are braced square and plumb for a good structure.  The roof framing is nearing completion.

FRAMING BEGINS

The entire addition was stick framed on site.  Custom construction is our specialty.

A DRIED-IN SHELL

The addition is sided and roofed.  The hardi-plank siding resists rot and termites hate it.  Also, it won’t burn.

OUTSIDE COMPLETE

The owner’s paint choice was applied and the concrete patio and handicapped accessible ramp has been poured.

THE RETURN OF GRASS

The only good St. Augustine grass in the yard was in the location of the addition.  We added dirt and graded the new yard before putting down sod to direct the drainage when it rains.

LIKE A NEW HOME

The rest of the house was sided to match the addition and then everything was painted using the owner’s paint choice.

DRYWALL IS UP

Here are the doorways into the new laundry room and bathroom.  Both are 36” wide for easy wheelchair access.

ROLL-IN SHOWER

We custom built this shower with no lip so a wheel chair can easily go in with no obstructions.  The 2x2 tiles on the floor offer a gentle slope to the drain with no sharp edges.

A STYLISH VANITY

Meeting A.D.A. regulations this vanity is warm and pleasing to the eye while still allowing wheel chair access.

THE NEW OPENING

The cased opening is in the original outside wall.  We’ve blended this together so that the addition looks as though it was always there.

THE NEW BEDROOM

The new bedroom has a closet and wall unit to control the temperature separately from the rest of the house.  It is also easier to clean than the ductwork of a large unit and much cheaper.

THE NEW UTILITY ROOM

Before the washer and dryer were just tucked behind closet doors.  Now, there is space to wash, dry and fold laundry all in one place.
